Power Pop Pat started this show in 2000 as "Pat's Power Pop Hour" as an hour long show, after graduating Broadcast school earlier in the year. Prior to Broadcast School, he was the Tuesday 3-5:30 AM DJ for 4 years at KOPN. After a 1-year stint in commercial radio, Power Pop Pat heard the calling--Mid Missouri NEEDED a Power Pop Radio show. The "And Punk" was added, because after the death of Johnny Ramone (guitarist of The Ramones) in 2004, EVERY show has started with The Ramones, and the connection from Power Pop to Punk was made!
