Evening Edition with Mark Haim: Since October of 1997, this weekly show has covered issues often overlooked in the mainstream media and given underrepresented perspectives the opportunity to be heard. In the wake of September 11 Mark has concentrated his shows on war and peace issues. Mark, a community activist in Columbia for the past 30 years, covers a wide variety of topics including peace and the "war on terror", environment, social justice, peace, human rights, feminist and gay-lesbian concerns. He also provides a forum for dialogue between opposing views on topics such as the death penalty, genetic engineering, abortion, the ERA and much more. The show also offers listeners the opportunity to call in and express their views as well as discuss the issues with Mark's guests. Each hour ends with a Progressive Community Update, a calendar of upcoming events. Mark always welcomes suggestions for topics and guests, as well as items to include on the calendar.
